You shot the nail in your eye yourself. Don't blame the nail cutter. Unless by nail cutter you mean you, since you were cutting your nails, in which case, yes I agree, the nail cutter, you, shot a nail directly into your eye. Why did you do that? Eyes are important.

Wrong, I don't become a shovel because I'm using one, but rather do what its supposed with the tool itself, I can't dig as effective with a shovel, as I can't cut my nails without a nail clipper
@CatGuard bad example. When you use a shovel, you become a shoveler. Similarly, when you use a nail cutter, you become a nail cutter. It just so happens that the name of the tool involved with shoveling is the verb whereas the name of the tool involved with nail cutting is the noun.
It's like you're divorcing intent from your actions. Just because the direct thing you're doing is a physical motion involving a tool, doesn't mean that on a more human scale, what you're actually doing is cutting nails.
